Veteran Application

Honor Flight Northern Arizona recognizes American veterans for your sacrifices and achievements by flying you to Washington, D.C. to see YOUR memorial at no cost. Top priority (for which we are currently accepting applications) is given to World War II and terminally ill veterans from all wars.

For what you and your comrades have given to us, please consider this a small token of appreciation from all of us at Honor Flight Northern Arizona. We owe so much to you, the veterans whose sacrifices cannot be captured in a few words.

It is truly Honor Flight Northern Arizona's privilege to fly our heroes to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at the memorials built in their honor. Our highest priority is to the aging World War II veterans along with any veteran facing terminal illness. Other veterans such as the Korean War and Vietnam War troops are included in our program and will be addressed in the near future.

Guardian Application

Guardians are essential to the success of the Honor Flight Network Program. Without these volunteers we would not be able to carry out the dreams of so many veterans, enabling them to see the memorials built in their honor.

Typically during our trips, we divide the veterans into groups of eight and assign three guardians to each group. Even before the veterans arrive at the airport, the guardian's responsibilities begin with flight preparation and going over their packets of material. Once the veterans start to arrive, guardians will ensure boarding passes and IDs are available, distribute Honor Flight Network tee shirts, get the veterans through security and to the gate, assist in boarding, etc.

From the moment the veterans are in our hands until we return them to their loved ones in the evening, guardians will be asked to treat these heroes as if they are family and ensure that every veteran has a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience. Guardians are volunteers and are expected to pay for their trip. Prices will vary depending on the departure city, airline fares, and accomodations in Washington, D.C.

Because they play such a significant role in our program, we will provide training sessions for all guardians prior to participating in one of our trips.

Volunteer Application

Honor Flight Network is basically a volunteer program created to honor our veterans for all they have sacrificed to make this a better world. Without the support of these volunteers, there is no way that we would be able to provide the opportunity to fly our heroes to Washington, D.C. to see the memorials created in their honor.

Examples of volunteer positions include sending off the veterans at the airport in the morning and welcoming them home at the end of the trip with a cheering reception; mailing requested material and purchased merchandise; as well as contacting veterans and guardians to make arrangements based on our projected flight schedules.

If you would like to volunteer your services, please contact us. You can be a part of making our veterans' dreams a reality. You can make a difference. Thank you for your support.
